The Oil of the Month is Lavender.

Most people will recognize Lavender's sweet floral scent as it is a widely know fragrance. Lavender can be both relaxing and stimulating and is by far the most popular of all essential oils.

Lavender oil is obtained using steam distillation of the Lavender flowers which are native to most Mediterranean countries.

Lavender oil is widely used in aromatherapy and is often used to ease tension, depression and fatigue. Some suggested uses are:

1. Add 8 drops of lavender oil to a hot bath before bedtime, to relieve anxiety and to help with sleep
2. Mix 4 drops of lavender oil, 4 drops of Thyme and 2 drops of Peppermint in a cool bath, to refresh and energize
