The oil is extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree which is grown in Sicily, Italy, France and some parts of Africa.

Neroli is thought to be named after the princess of Nerola, Anne-Marie; as she introduced the fragrance to high society. It is believed she would use the oil as perfume and would bathe in the oil.

Used widely in modern colognes / perfumes, this is really nice oil and both men and women will find the fragrance appealing.

Uses of Neroli Essential Oil

Neroli has Anti-depressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, relaxing, calming, aphrodisiac, sedative, deodorant and stimulating properties.

Neroli essential oil is beneficial for the following:

If you have intestinal or bowel problems, try massaging neroli (mixed with carrier oil) onto the abdomen. Bathing in neroli essential oil is also great for intestinal disorders.

Neroli is also extensively used in skin care products as the oil will encourage skin growth. Mix with a crème base and massage onto the skin.

Neroli has sedative, relaxing and soothing properties and is a good oil to help with insomnia and sleep problems. Add a couple of drops of neroli to a cotton wool ball and place by the side of your bed or near a radiator to help you sleep. A bath with neroli and chamomile is also wonderful for treating sleep problems.

Neroli essential oil blends well with most of the citrus family. It also blends well with cedarwood, chamomile, geranium, jasmine, lavender, lemon, rose, bergamot, patchouli and sandalwood essential oil
